Spain had a disappointing World cup run as they crashed out to the underdogs Morocco in a penalty shoot-out. They barely progressed from the group stage as they lost against Japan and drew against Germany and if we ignore the 7-0 win against Costa Rica, they have struggled to score goals in the recent past scoring only two in the remaining three games. Scotland have started well in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers with a three-goal win against Cyprus at home.

Spain need a quality striker like David Villa, who they had in their golden era, however, they have the talent in their midfield with the likes of Gavi and Pedri, who is currently injured. Luis de la Fuente's men have started well in the European qualifiers with a 3-0 win against Norway and will face their fellow table toppers Scotland in the second Group A match.

Scotland, on the other hand, will be looking to make Hampden Park a fortress as they are currently on a four-match winning run at home, having scored 10 and conceded just one in those games. Lyndon Dykes is expected to lead the line in the absence of Adams, while Scott McTominay is pushing for a start after the Manchester United midfielder's late double against Cyprus.

Head To Head:

  • In their 13 head-to-head games, the Scottish have won three games while Spain won six matches and drew four.
  • Scotland haven't won against Spain since 1984.
