Preview:

The second leg of Round of 16 in Europa League will see Manchester United travel to Italy for clash against AC Milan. While the visitors will be taking on to the pitch after a hard fought 1-0 against West Ham United, the hosts will enter the match on back of a 1-0 loss against Napoli. Both teams currently sit at second in their respective league table.

Things will be harder for Manchester United as the reverse fixture saw them conceding a late goal and match ending in 1-1 draw. Milan have the away goal advantage, and therefore, United will have pressure to get that away goal to ease things off.

Team News

AC Milan:

Stefano Pioli will be without Alessio Romagnoli and Rafael Leao for the clash against Manchester United. However, Ante Rebic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have recovered and will be available for selection, making side’s attack stronger. Although, it will be interesting to see how the side plans to stop Manchester United attack in the absence of a crucial centre-half.

Manchester United:

The Red Devils will be flying to Italy without Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani, Donny van de Beek, and Paul Pogba. The trip can turn out to be one to forget if Manchester United fail to score any goal or get another forward injured in the game, as they are already out of strikers. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be optimistic considering the away form of the team.

Analysis:

Once the superpowers of their leagues and Europe, they will clash once again, albeit in a Thursday night Europa League fixture this time. While the Rossoneri will want to defend meticulously and then score a goal to kill the tie, the Red Devils will do anything to nick in an early goal and open up the contest. Fans can expect an end to end game with both sides eager to get their goals. However, expect Milan to play with patterns, while Manchester United will try to get away on counter attacks.

For fantasy team, it will be recommended to have more attackers than defenders, and quite the opposite for the second team, as a 1-1 result may force game into extra time, and eventually, penalties.
