World Number 1 tennis star Carlos Alcaraz shared an injury update ahead of Wimbledon 2023. The Spaniard had withdrawn from a pre-Withdrawal event, which led to speculations and concerns amongst fans regarding his participation in the forthcoming tournament.

Carlos retained his number one spot in the ATP rankings along with being the top player in the tournament this year. The 20-year-old earlier skipped a pre-tournament event citing injury concerns.

Alcaraz was set to play Hurlingham Classic on Friday, where he would have clashed against Dominic Thiem. But he had also withdrawn from his first match at the event, where he was to clash against Holger Rune on July 29. During his two-hour session, he settled rumours that he isn’t fit for Wimbledon and said that ‘everything is fine’.

Alcaraz played the third grass court event of his career and first outside of Wimbledon during the Queen's Club Championship, where he became the youngest ever player to have a title on all three surfaces since Lleyton Hewitt. Not only this but with his victory in the tournament, he retained his World Number 1 spot.

After his victory at the Queen’s Club, Alcaraz said, "Honestly, I have a lot of confidence now coming into Wimbledon. I ended up the week playing at a high level, so right now I feel one of the favourites to win Wimbledon. Well, I am coming now (to play) Wimbledon with a lot of confidence, that’s obvious, but I saw a statistic that Novak has won more matches at Wimbledon than any top-20 player."
