Formula One on Thursday, February 8, announced a 10-year contract extension to keep the British Grand Prix on the calendar until 2034. With this new deal, the British Grand Prix will enter the ninth decade to continue racing at the Northamptonshire circuit, having hosted the first race in 1950.

According to the fresh deal, the Silverstone circuit has been reported to fetch worth USD 37 million per year, until 2034. Announcing the extension of British Grand Prix until 2034, F1 President Stefano Domenicali said, “I am delighted to announce that the British Grand Prix will remain on the calendar for 10 more years with this agreement.”

“Silverstone is an iconic venue at the heart of F1 history and as it approaches its ninth decade hosting Grand Prix, the event continues to attract fans from around the world for fantastic racing track and amazing fan experience off it,” he further added. 

The Chairman of the British Racing Drivers’ Club, Peter Digby also shared his excitement on his new deal adding, “this contractual security will provide a solid base for further development of the venue as we continue to improve and transform the circuit into a year-round international motorsport and leisure destination.”

Speaking of the 2024 F1 calendar, the first round will be held from February 29 to March 2 in Bahrain, while the British Grand Prix will take place from 5-7 July. The 2024 season will host 24 races, including races in China, Japan, US, Italy, Monaco, Austria, Las Vegas and many others.
