In yet another big update coming in from the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators star Faf du Plessis has been ruled out of the remaining games of this year's competition. It is also being learned that the South Africa national will be heading back to his home on Wednesday. Notably, du Plessis had suffered a concussion during his team’s match against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday when in collision with his teammate Mohammad Hasnain while fielding.

Although, he had later sent out a message saying he is recovering fine despite some memory loss, he has now been ruled of the remainder of the tournament. This is not the first case of an international star being ruled out of the PSL owing to concussion. Earlier, Quetta Gladiators star Andre Russell was also ruled out of the remaining fixtures of his team after he was hit on the helmet. While he had opted to continue to bat then, getting out on the next delivery, he did not come back to the field. Russell was replaced by UAE pacer Zahoor Khan.

How did Faf get injured?

During the 7th over of Peshawar Zalmi’s innings, David Miller smashed a shot straight down the wicket off the bowling of Mohammad Nawaz. Although the ball seemed to be going towards the boundary, a flying Faf du Plessis came up with a diving effort to stop the ball from crossing the ropes. However, the Proteas veteran got his head smashed against the knees of Mohammad Hasnain who was running towards him.
