Four-time NBA champion and MVP LeBron James has numerously opened up on his desire to buy an NBA franchise. After Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver decided to sell the club, the LA Lakers small forward is expected to take over the ownership of Suns. However, famous YouTuber Jake Paul has made an interesting claim over LeBron's wish to buy Phoenix Suns.

Recently, 18 times NBA All-Star James became the first active basketball player to be a billionaire according to Forbes list of billionaires. Apart from his desire to own an NBA club, James had also been vocal about playing with his son Bronny James in the same team in near future.

Jake Paul talks about LeBron James' interest in buying Phoenix Suns

LeBron celebrated Sarver's announcement of selling the franchise on Twitter and wrote, "I’m so proud to be a part of a league committed to progress!" In his recent video, YouTube star Jake Paul claimed that the Lakers star is looking to buy Phoenix Suns and also reported the reason for the highly-anticipated move.

In 2022, LeBron James became first NBA player to accumulate 10,000 or more career points, rebounds, and assists. Paul, who has more than 20 million subscribers on YouTube, claimed that LeBron could turn out to be the first active player to own an NBA team after buying Phoenix Suns.    

Jake Paul said, "But LeBron wants to be an owner of the Phoenix Suns. And he will be the first-ever active player to also be an owner of the team. But there’s a reason he wants to do this and it’s pretty crazy. Basically, he wants to play with both of his sons, Bronny and Bryce James."

Following his claim on James desire to play with his sons, Paul's co-host joked that LeBron would change the name of the franchise to 'Sons'.

After NBA imposed a $10 million fine and a one-year suspension on Phoenix Suns owner for "instances of inequitable conduct towards female employees", Robert Sarver announced to sell the club. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, former Disney CEO Bob Iger, owner of the Los Angeles Angels Arturo Moreno, and Elon Musk are reportedly expressed their interest in buying the club.
