England Test skipper Ben Stokes had an outstanding day on Monday, as he led England to an exciting 75-wicket win against Pakistan, in the last session of the 1st Test against Pakistan at the Rawalpindi stadium.
England's head coach in Test cricket Brendon McCullum capped with Ben Stokes' leadership has given birth to an aggressive brand of Test cricket which has brought many laurels to the Englishmen.
A similar trend was observed during 1st Test against Pakistan as the visitors tasked Babar Azam & Co. with 343 as the target in the last four sessions of the series opener, but the hosts faltered miserably to hand over a famous win to the Three Lions.
Minutes after Pakistan succumbed to England’s lethal bowling, former England skipper Michael Vaughan lauded the effort of his side, with a special mention to Ben Stokes, and his bold decision to declare the innings.
“One of the GREAT test wins .. I don’t know of any Captain in the history of Test cricket that would have got his team to Bat like his team did and then declare when he did .. unbelievable .. #PAKvENG,” tweeted Vaughan.
However, Vaughan’s tweet didn’t go down very well with the Indian cricket fans who were quick to remind the Englishmen how the former Indian skipper was a real inventor of ‘either win or lose’ approach in Test cricket.
Indian cricket fans took turns to troll the retired English cricketer reminding him of several instances when Virat Kohli displayed his aggressive nature in Test cricket and inspired the team to go for nothing, but a win.
