Russell Westbrook has made a shocking revelation at the recently organised press conference on Wednesday, April 26. The former LA Lakers star broke his silence on his trade. The young player revealed that he felt relieved immediately after he was traded and was mentally also at peace.

When asked about when did the weight finally lift off of his shoulder, Westbrook replied "Once I got traded, immediately, to be honest. From that moment, mentally I was in a better place."

The revelation has been shocking but fans were glad that the basketball star finally felt relieved after a mentally exhausting season. Russell Westbrook also pondered on his time with the Los Angeles Clippers following their season-ending Game 5 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Westbrook stated that he enjoyed his time with the Clippers and appreciated being welcomed by the team and fans.

The LA Clippers finished at the fifth position in the league table of the Western Conference. After that they clashed with the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the knockouts in which they had to taste defeat. After the season got over, the point guard became a free agent, but he is likely to be retained by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Westbrook was previously part of the star-studded LA Lakers, where he had a bleak season. He was unable to play in a surrounding which already had big names in the form of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He was unable to give his best performance with the Lakers as his primary strength clashed with that of LeBron. He reached a buyout in February 2023 with the LA Clippers and was reunited with his former teammate Paul George. On February 24, the 34-year-old point guard made his Clippers debut, putting up 17 points and 14 assists in a 176–175 double overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings. It was the second-highest scoring game in NBA history. He also tied Andre Miller for the most assists in a debut in Clippers history.
