Former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil and Ozan Tufan have been reportedly suspended by Fenerbahce with immediate effect on Thursday morning after reports suggested that the midfielder had a verbal altercation with interim manager Ismail Kartal. A brief statement issued by Fener stated that Mesut Ozil has been excluded from the squad as per the decisions taken.

While there is no confirmation about the reason for axing Ozil from the team management, many guess that Mesut Ozil was suspended on the grounds of disciplinary issues which were noticed during his time at Arsenal. His behaviour under managers Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta also led to the termination of his contract six months before it was due to officially expire.

However, reports have claimed that Ozil and Ozan had an argument with the coach Ismail Kartal over lack of game time resulting in their axing from the squad.

Both the players will not be available for selection or allowed to train with the first team until further notice. If football.london is to be believed, Ozil will be forced to find a new club in summer if the situation does not resolve soon. The ex-Germany international still has 27 months remaining on his existing deal and is reportedly earning £3.5million per year. However, there is no guarantee Kartal will still be in charge of Fenerbahce next season, and the new manager could reintegrate Ozil. It's only been 14 months since his Arsenal contract was cancelled after falling out of favour with manager Mikel Arteta.
