RedBull continued their dominance in the Formula 1 calendar 2023 after clinching back-to-back podiums at the recently concluded Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. After Sergio Perez took the first place, Max Verstappen finished second, the drama from the third place continued.

 

During the thrilling race at the Jeddah Circuit, the third-place  drama continued with George Russell clinching it. However, Fernando Alonso was demoted to fourth after he was punished for not serving the five-second penalty by the race stewards. However, when his side Aston Martin challenged the stewards and went for a review, Alonso was reinstated at third, meaning he clinched his second consecutive third place finish in F1 2023.

 

How does the Constructors’ Championship look like?

After the completion of the two races out of the 23 planned races, Red Bull lead the way with 87 points. Aston Martin stands at level with Mercedes with 38 points each, taking the second and third place respectively in the Championship.


Whereas, talking about the Drivers’ Standings, the Dutch Max Verstappen leads the charts with 44 points, just one-point ahead of teammate Sergio Perez. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso sits at third place with 30 points, followed by Carlos Sainz (20 points), Lewis Hamilton (20 points), George Russell (18), Lance Stroll (8), Charles Leclerc (6), Valtteri Botta (4) and Esteban Ocon (4), completing the top ten.
