England and Wales gear up for an important Group B fixture in the FIFA World Cup 2022. Both these teams have a lot of history between them and hence tempers back home could escalate quickly. So, in order to avoid such a situation, a club in Wales has decided to take some extremely drastic steps.

A pub in Cardiff has decided to ban England fans from entering its premises and watching the game in a bid to keep all patrons safe. The spokesperson of the club addressed these drastic measures and stated that the pub would be a ‘Home Fan Zone' for Wales fans only.

The spokesperson said, "For the safety and comfort of all our team and guests, we have taken the decision to be a 'Home Fan Zone' tomorrow evening. This means we will only be allowing supporters of the Welsh team into the premises.

He further stressed the importance of safety as football games tend to push fans to commit some unfavourable actions which can lead to problems for others in the pub. The Spokesperson added,  "The extreme levels of passion and support on show for this particular game are like nothing we have ever seen before, and we want everyone to enjoy it in a safe and friendly atmosphere. Many thanks for your understanding, and we look forwards to watching a great game. Cymru am Byth!”

Both England and Wales enter this game after disappointing results. The Three Lions had to settle for a stalemate 0-0 draw against the USA. While the Welsh Dragons suffered a gruelling 2-0 defeat against Iran where both goals were scored in the extra-time. Speaking ahead of the game, England manager Gareth Southgate wants his team to focus on the game and stick to their game plan.

He said, “We’ve got to just focus on what we’re about, preparing for the game in our normal way. We’ve got to bring our quality to the game and composure and play with tempo that makes our team really difficult to play against. So, it’s pointless for us focusing on what is said before the game. We’ve got to go on the pitch and play well.”
