Hockey India named a 33-member men's core probable group including the likes of captain Manpreet Singh and veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh for the FIH Pro League season. According to information provided by the FIH, players included in the list will report to the SAI Centre in Bengaluru on Monday for a national camp ahead of FIH Pro Leagues matches against New Zealand and Spain at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar.

Speaking of the camp, chief coach Graham Reid claimed that the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23 will provide valuable insights into the areas that need work ahead of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 Bhubaneshwar - Rourkela. 

"The match against Spain and New Zealand are very crucial for us and the players are excited about the upcoming months of hockey. We have chosen some fresh names in the core group who have showcased great potential and are desperate to perform when given an opportunity," the chief coach was quoted in the release issued by Hockey India.
