The mini IPL 2024 auction is slated to be hosted on December 19, in Dubai. With the mega event approaching, all 10 teams will be looking forward to increasing the strength of their side. Before the auction, the squads will have time to make some trades as well as release a few players, to make room for the new names they might be eyeing on. The teams will have to announce their releases by November 27.
Cricket fans along with other franchises will have their eyes on the 2023 champions, Chennai Super Kings, on which players they would retain and which players they would release. Here are the five players that the reigning champions should release ahead of the auction.
Sisanda Magala
Sisanda Magala was included in the CSK squad as a replacement for Kylie Jamieson. Magala was roped in following his good run in the SAT20 tournament, which took place just before the IPL 2023. In the Indian tournament, Magala played two games and picked up one wicket at an economy rate of 8.50. The South African was quite inconsistent with his performance in the tournament and was later benched out.
CSK would look forward to freeing the cricketer to free an overseas slot.
