Former Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho is set to visit India during the second week of October. The footballer will be in the City of Joy, Kolkata a few days before the beginning of Durga Puja. According to the sports promoter and business consultant Satardu Dutta, the two-time Ballon d’Or winner is in consideration to be invited to India before the Durga Puja festivities.

Notably, Dutta was the man behind the visit of Maradona, Pele, Cafu and many more to Kolkata. Not only this, but the 43-year-old played a key role in FIFA World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez’s visit to the Indian subcontinent in July this year.

Dutta was in a conversation with the Indian Express, where he said, “Multiple reports are circulating in the media about who will visit Kolkata, but I can tell the fans that I met Ronaldinho’s brother cum manager Assis and the plan is to bring the Brazilian great before the Durga Puja.” Roberto de Assis Moreira, or Assis, as he is popularly known, happens to be a former footballer as well as Ronaldinho’s agent, brother, manager and agent.

The former footballer will visit Mohun Bagan and East Bengal ground and he is likely to play football with kids for 30 minutes. Dutta explained, “We are in the final stages of discussion and all that remains as the dates. I want him to come on the 16th, 17th and 18th."

He went on to say, "But Ronaldinho also has some professional commitments for which there are a few finer details that need to be thrashed out and then he can surely arrive before the festivities begin in the city.”
