Ahead of the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League, former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris has made a bold prediction. Styris took to his official Twitter account to say that Chennai Super Kings will finish at the bottom of the points table in the 2021 season. Dhoni's men had a disastrous campaign last season as they failed to qualify for the playoffs and finished in the seventh position. CSK looked a shadow of the team that has so often dismantled opposition teams over the years. Styris opined that his former team lack the firepower to do well in IPL 2021.

Mumbai Indians to win IPL 2021 for sixth time

Styris further stated that defending champions Mumbai Indians will defend their IPL crown once again and win the title for a record-extending fifth time. Mumbai Indians have won the previous two editions of the IPL and are strong favorites to win IPL 2021. The cricketer-turned commentator was of the opinion that Mumbai Indians will be able to defend their title once again.

Scott Styris’ prediction for other teams in IPL 2021

Styris also predicted the standings of the other six teams. Following MI were last years’ finalists Delhi Capitals in 2nd place, while KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings claimed the third spot in the list. The former BlackCap also appreciated team-management of Punjab Kings for their fine work in the IPL 2021 Auctions.

For the fourth and final playoff spot, Styris went with David Warner-led SunRisers Hyderabad. Further, he picked Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at the fifth, sixth and seventh spot respectively. Styris mentioned that Rajasthan will miss the services of all-rounder Jofra Archer, who has been ruled out of the entire IPL 2021 campaign. While Kolkata Knight Riders will also struggle, due to the lack of batting depth in their squad.
