Trevor Sinclair, the former English footballer, has reportedly joined the coaching staff of the Indian football team before the AFC Asian Cup happening next month. The 50-year-old is going to work alongside the Indian head coach Igor Stimac as the set-piece and in-game tactical assistance during their Group B matches in the AFC Asian Cup against Syria, Uzbekistan, and Australia.

As per the report from RevSportz, Trevor Sinclair is going to join the Indian coaching staff on December 29, a day before the team make their trip to Doha in Qatar to take part in the AFC Asian Cup. The tournament to determine the next champion of Asian football in 2024 will begin on January 12 before the final takes place on February 10.

The former English midfielder, who earned 12 international caps, making the squad for the FIFA World Cup 2002, was a part of West Ham United as a player alongside Igor Stimac at the turn of the 21st century. In his 177 appearances for the London club from 1998 to 2003, he scored 37 goals before notching up five goals in 82 appearances for Manchester City.

Trevor Sinclair also competed for clubs like Blackpool, Queens Park Rangers, and Cardiff City before fulfilling responsibility as a player and assistant manager at Lancaster City in the 2014-15 season. Recently, he was overseeing football operations at Bamber Bridge alongside the manager Jamie Milligan.
