The Men in Blue locked horns with Pakistan for the first time after the 2019 ODI World Cup. The Rohit Sharma-led side won the toss and opted to bat first. The Men in Blue posted 267-run target on the board, courtesy Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya’s 138-run stand for the fifth wicket. While the India inning saw two halts with rain coming into play, the second innings was completely whitewashed without a ball being bowled, thus the umpires calling off the match.

With this the Babar Azam-led side became the first side to qualify for the Super 4s, India will next play Nepal on September 4 in Kandy to confirm their berth in Super 4s. Shaheen Shah Afridi was definitely the pick of the bowlers of the night as he finished with the figures of 4/35 in this 10-over spell.

While the match was abandoned, former Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was under the scanner for his tweet on the India vs Pakistan match. The former PM took to ‘X’ formerly known as Twitter and wrote “THEY CANNOT PLAY HIM”, while retweeting his earlier post which simple had “SHAHEEN” written on it.

While the tweet surfaced, fans and cricketing enthusiast took a sly dig at the former PM as they shared picture of Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah, calling him that they can play Shaheen. Some even took to the social media platform to share that Jasprit Bumrah is an even bigger thing when it comes to it.
