Former Pakistan capatain Shahid Afridi is rated among the best utility players to come from the South Asian country. Known for his power-hitting, taking crucial wickets with the bowl and match-winning performances, Afridi served Pakistan cricket for over two decades and earned several accolades for his country.

After hanging up his boots, Shahid Afridi remains quite active on social media and often expresses his critical views on several matters. In a recent development, Afridi shares a selfie with two traffic police personnel after the veteran cricketer was fined for overspeeding while driving to Karachi from Lahore.

As per reports, the former all-rounder paid the monetary penalty of Rs 1,500 for violating the traffic rules and was later lauded the Motorway police for not favouring him because he is a sports celebrity. "Good to interact with a polite staff at @NHMPofficial  and I found them very professional. Also my humble suggestion we have very good highways, the speed allowed should be more than 120kph!," Shahid Afridi wrote while sharing his selfie with the police personnel.

In his latest interaction with the media, Shahid Afridi confessed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has a greater influence in decision-making after the PCB raised concerns that a longer IPL will disrupt Pakistan's international fixtures. While speaking with SAMAA TV about his opinion on BCCI proposing to have more matches in IPL, Shahid Afridi claimed that India is the biggest cricketing market in India. "Whatever they say will happen. It all comes down to the market and economy," he said.

Shahid Afridi's comment came after BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that the IPL would have a two-and-a-half-month window. While several cricketers from all around welcomed the move, the report quoting a PCB source said that the board will raise the matter during the ICC board meeting which will be held during the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July.

The PCB source further stated that the board is happy to see BCCI is committed to growing international bilateral cricket, but the expansion of IPL will crop bilateral tours and it will hamper Pakistan's bilateral tours.
