In the most recent update to the game, Gareth Bale, a five-time Champions League champion, has joined PGA Tour 2K23 as a playable character. The 34-year-old is the game's newest golfer in the fifth season. The former footballer who played for Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid is easily the biggest addition to the game in the 1.9 update.
After helping LAFC win the MLS Cup and representing Wales at the 2022 World Cup, Bale announced his retirement from football in 2023. Bale won five Champions Leagues, three La Liga championships, and two UEFA Super Cups throughout the course of his 17-year senior career. Since then, it seems like the enthusiast has just been playing golf. He most recently shared the course with Rory McIlroy at the BMW PGA Pro-Am.
Tiger Woods, Nelly Korda, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm, Lydia Ko, Tony Finau, Brooke Henderson, and Xander Schauffele are among the players Bale joins on the PGA TOUR 2K23 roster. Other notable celebrity players include Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry, John Cena, and the Dude Perfect cast.
In addition to being a playable character, Bale offered advice to VctryLnSprts so that he could create The Elevens Club, his ideal course, using the Course Designer in PGA TOUR 2K23. The Elevens Club is open to play and is free for all players. It includes many of Bale's favourite components, including large trees, undulating fairways and greens, water hazards, and a beautiful waterfall on the eleventh hole. Playing as Bale and putting their abilities to the test on The Elevens Club allows players to take on a number of fresh tasks and win in-game rewards.
