With just a few days remaining for IPL 2022 to commence, Delhi Capitals have made an exciting addition to their coaching staff. After parting ways with Mohammad Kaif, the franchise was in search of a new fielding coach and they have finally secured the services of former SRH coach Biju George to fill the vacant position.

The 56-year-old notably has immense experience in coaching, having worked as fielding coach of Indian Women's team (from 2017 to 2019) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (IPL 2020). Reflecting on Biju George's recruitment, a promoter of the franchise told Cricbuzz on Wednesday (March 9), "We have taken him for the season and he comes with good years of experience - both in IPL and international cricket."

Will DC add another stalwart in coaching staff for IPL 2022?

The coaching staff of Rishabh Pant-led side looks more or less complete, with all bases covered. However, there are reports that DC might also get Shane Watson on board as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. Although nothing is official as of now, the 40-year-old could play a vital role alongside his former captain Ricky Ponting, if he joins Delhi Capitals.

The franchise has a very well-balanced squad this year and under the leadership of young Pant, DC would be hoping to clinch their maiden IPL title in 2022.
