Free Fire, one of the most popular battle royale games in India, was banned by the government in February 2022 along with 53 other apps over security and privacy concerns. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the game to return to the country, but there has been no official announcement from either Garena, the developer and publisher of Free Fire, or the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the authority that imposed the ban.
However, in the last few days, the rumor of a possible unban date for Free Fire has intensified on social media platforms, especially YouTube and Twitter. Two weeks before the release of a new update, the title receives a brand new Advance Server. The most recent OB41 Advance Server launched a few days ago. This time, the creators included a two-step age verification method to safeguard both the players and the title. This has alerted the gamers as the extra protection could lead to a possible unban of the game in India.

There is no official confirmation or reliable information regarding the unban date of Free Fire in India. All the rumors and speculations are based on assumptions, hearsay, or wishful thinking. Garena has largely kept silent about the ban situation on Free Fire in India and has not issued any statement or update about the game's return date or plans for an Indian version of Free Fire. Garena has only raised questions as to why a Singapore-based company was banned in India, despite not having any Chinese links.
Meanwhile, MeitY has not given any indication that it will lift the ban on Free Fire or any other app that was suspended in February 2022. The ministry has not responded to any requests or appeals from Garena or the gaming community regarding the game's status. The ministry has also not revealed any criteria or process for reviewing or revoking the ban on any app.
Therefore, it is safe to say that there is no Free Fire unban date in India as of now but fans should be patient and hopeful for the game's return, but also be wary of any false or misleading information that might circulate online.
