Garena-hosted tournament Free Fire World Series is back for another edition featuring world-class fps gameplay. F FWS 2023 is set to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, and will feature eighteen teams fighting to be the best over two main phases: the group stage and the grand finals.

Group Stage

The group stage of FFWS 2023 will be held over six match days from November 10th to 19th. A total of eighteen teams will compete against each other in this phase and the twelve best-performing sides will move on to the next round. The group stages will feature 36 matches in all, with each team playing twice.

Grand Finals

The grand finals stage will be held over three match days from November 24th to November 26th. The top twelve teams will compete in eighteen total matches in order to accumulate points. The team with the most points will be crowned champions and win a spectacular amount of money.

The exact amount of the prize pool has not been revealed yet, though it is expected to be upwards of a million dollars. Last year’s edition of FFWS in Singapore had a prize pool of $2 million.

Participation

This year, 18 top teams from several regions around the globe will be invited to participate in the tournament, namely:

  • Middle East and Africa (MEA): 1 seed from Free Fire Middle East and Africa League Season 7
  • Brazil (BR): 3 seeds from Liga Brasileira de Free Fire 2023
  • Latin America (LATAM): 3 seeds from Free Fire League Latinoamerica 2023
  • Thailand (TH): 3 seeds from Free Fire Thailand Pro League 2023
  • Indonesia (ID): 2 seeds from Free Fire Master League Season 8
  • Vietnam (VN): 2 seeds from Vietnam Free Fire League Summer 2023
  • Malaysia, Cambodia, The Philippines, and Sri Lanka (MCPS): 1 seed from MCPS Majors Season 6
  • Pakistan (PK): 1 seed from FFWS Qualifier

Points system

The points system for FFWS 2023 remains the same as old editions. The team securing Booyah in each game will receive 12 points, while the second and third will get nine and eight points respectively. The full breakdown is as follows: 

  • 1st place: 12
  • 2nd place: 9
  • 3rd place: 8
  • 4th place: 7
  • 5th place: 6
  • 6th place: 5
  • 7th place: 4
  • 8th place: 3
  • 9th place: 2
  • 10th place: 1
  • 11th place: 0
  • 12th place: 0

The event will feature world-class teams from around the competitive series.
