Garena announced the 2024 roadmap for Free Fire Esports, and in the upcoming season, fans will see a substantial revamp in its esports framework. Apart from a new regional league for the Southeast Asia region, a mid-season globe event is also planned to be launched in July 2024. Free Fire has made this strategic shift to its effort and planning to enhance its esports ecosystem and provide a consistent tournament identity for its global audience. 

As per its 2024 roadmap, Free Fire will introduce FFWS Southeast Asia (SEA) 2024. The objective behind this is to support local teams as well as provide a larger platform for emerging professional teams. The regional league will showcase two major tournaments, including FFWS SEA Spring and FFWS SEA Fall. The spring season will kick off on the 22nd of March 2024 and will end on May 26, 2024. 

It will have a total of 18 teams participating in the event, among which five teams will be from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and 3 from Malaysia. Other teams will either be invited or will make it to the event through qualifiers. The event will feature a whopping USD 300,000 prize pool. According to some portals, teams from FFWS SEA Spring, the first splits of FFWS Brazil and FFWS LATAM, and representatives from MEA and Pakistan will also participate in the tournament. 

The champion of the tournament will secure their berth in the grand stage of Free Fire esports, the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals 2024.
