Brazilian defender Gabriel scored a winner for Arsenal in their all-important North London derby against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday, September 15. At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in his third appearance of the new season, Gabriel stepped up for Arsenal at a critical stage, to put the ball in the back of the net in the 64th minute, to bring them just two points behind Manchester City, who have won all their matches in the first four rounds, to find themselves at the summit of Premier League.

In the build-up to the North London derby, more than half a dozen players were not available for selection for Arsenal with the likes of Martin Odegaard suffering an injury during the international break and Declan Rice serving a suspension. But despite their problems, Arsenal were quite exceptional at keeping Tottenham at bay in their own den before scoring the decisive goal via Gabriel, who scored with a towering header from a corner taken by Bukayo Saka.

Furthermore, since the start of last season, the Gunners have notched up most goals from set pieces in the Premier League, 23 in total, which including the strike from the Brazilian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
