Gavi will still be able to continue to play for Barca but the significant development triggers a release clause allowing him to leave Camp Nou for free this summer. Barcelona expressed that they intend to take further legal action on the matter, as per the Atheltic.  The development also brings a change in her shirt number. Gavi will change from the six, which he currently wears, to his old number 30.

Talking about the case, La Liga had filed an appeal to overturn the registration and stated that Barca had missed the deadline. The court since has ruled in the league’s favour earlier in March.

Barcelona then appealed against the court’s ruling shortly after, which is now rejected by the city’s Tenth Commercial Court. Barca now has 20 days to appeal the decision at the Provincial Court.

This also piles up another major problem for Barcelona, as the club continues to weather a massive financial storm. For completing Gavi's registration,  Xavi’s side will have to significantly reduce their wage bill. These problems put the 26-time Spanish champions in a quandary as the teams like Liverpool and Manchester City have been waiting to sign the young Spanish starlet in the summer.
