The buzz for 2024 European Championship has gotten on a high as Germany unveiled the logo for UEFA Euro 2024 on Tuesday. The logo was presented at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany in front of a few guests and media professionals; however no fans were present for the iconic launch. The ceremony was graced by the presence of UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, UEFA Euro 2024 Tournament Director Philipp Lahm, the Interim President of German Football Association, Rainer Koch, the governing Mayor of Berlin, the Lord Mayors of Dortmund, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen, along with the representatives of some host cities and other invited guests.

What does the logo represent?

The UEFA Euro 2024 logo is derived from the UEFA’s 55 member associations’ flags with their colours assembling in various combinations resembling the Olympiastadion’s roof. The center of the logo features the famous Henri Delaunay Cup – the tournament trophy, with the 24 colours representing the 24 participating teams of EURO.

The organizers of the tournament highlighted that they want to promote a tournament where diversity is celebrated and respected. The brand assets, from the logo to the brand video celebrate and convey the message of diversity in European football.

The slogan for the tournament “United by Football. Vereint im Herzen Europas” or “United at the Heart of Europe”- further strengthens the message of unity, togetherness and inclusion.

The logo for each of the 10 host cities- Berlin, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Leipzing and Gelsenkirchen were also revealed at the launch, featuring a famous local landmark on each of the city’s logos.

“From now on, the tournament has a brand identity”: UEFA President

Emphasizing on the message of unity, togetherness and diversity, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin spoke on the brand identity of the tournament.

“From now on, the tournament has a brand identity which reflects the ambition we have together with the host association and host cities: a EURO which is truly for everyone! For one month, we will be united by football in the heart of Europe,” he expressed.

The European Championship 2024 is set to take place in June and July 2024 across 10 host cities in Germany with the match schedule to be confirmed by 2022.
