Giannis Antetokounmpo faced criticism from Shaquille O’Neal for comment recently

The NBA champion from 2021 with the Milwaukee Bucks, had a disappointing end to the last season following the first-round loss against the Miami Heat in the playoffs. In the immediate aftermath, Giannis Antetokounmpo was quoted as saying that there’s no failure in sports. It led to Shaquille O’Neal criticizing the power forward by stating that if you don’t win after being the favorites, then you have failed the team.

During “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” the NBA legend said, “When you’re touted as the best, you’re expected to win, and if you don’t, it’s a failure. It’s not bad. I’m not a failure as a player, but I failed the city, I failed the team and I failed to reach my accomplishments. Period. Point blank.”
