Milwaukee Bucks suffered a major blow in their pursuit of overcoming the challenge of Atlanta Hawks in the ongoing Eastern Conference final series. Coming to Game 4 with a 2-1 lead, Bucks would have fancied their chances to secure another win, especially in the absence of Hawks' star player Trae Young. However, not only did they lose the one-sided match by 88-110, they also had to see their talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo limping off the court in a lot of pain.
Antetokounmpo to undergo MRI scans
During the third quarter of Game 4 between Bucks and Hawks, Antetokounmpo went up to block an attempt by Clint Capela. However, the 26-year-old landed awkwardly and seemed to have suffered a horrific knee injury in the process.
After being carried off the court, Antetokounmpo returned on the bench but eventually went back to the locker room again in some time. As per reports, the 26-year-old will undergo MRI scans on Wednesday to get to know the extent of his injury.
Antetokounmpo could be ruled out of Game 5
Milwaukee Bucks' forward is undoubtedly one of the most key players of their side. Antetokounmpo had scored 14 points in only 24 minutes in Game 4 against Hawks as they were trying to make their way back into the match. However, after his injury, Bucks completely lost the plot as Hawks ran away with the game in absence of Antetokounmpo.
With the 7-game series poised at 2-2, Game 5 is set to be played on Friday at 6 AM IST onwards. The Bucks' fans would be hoping that Antetokounmpo's injury is not as serious as it looked on first, viewing as they hope to get their stalwart back in action. As it stands, the availability of the 26-year-old for the game is quite unlikely and Bucks might need to come up with 'Plan B' to deal with the situation.
