After India's nail-biting defeat to Pakistan on Sunday in the Super 4 stage of the ongoing 2022 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Stadium, Arshdeep Singh received a lot of hate for his dropped catch of Asif Ali catch in the 18th over of the innings when he was batting at 0. The missed catch cost was very expensive for Team India as Ali scored 16 in just 8 balls to help Pakistan win. 


But since the game, several cricketers have come out in support of Arshdeep including Indian cricket stalwart Sachin Tendulkar. Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar stated addressed that there is no place for personal attacks in sports and every player representing the nation always strives to give their best. Tendulkar has urged the youngster to keep working.


"Every athlete representing the country gives their best and plays for the nation always. They need our constant support & remember, that in sports you win some & you lose some. Let's keep cricket or any other sport free from personal attacks. @arshdeepsinghh keep working hard.... and give the best reply by performing on the field. I am keenly following you. My best wishes," Tendulkar posted on Twitter

Similarly, Punjab Sports minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer towards Arshdeep as he spoke to his mother Baljeet Kaur over the phone. Hayer told her that Punjab along with the whole of India is proud of her son. Similarly, athletes like Arshdeep are an inspiration for the youth in the country.


“You all should be in high spirits. Whole of Punjab as well India stands with Arshdeep today. People, who have not played cricket ever, are making such comments. Arshdeep carried the hopes of 140 crore Indians and it’s a big thing for a 24-year-old youngster. The captain showed faith over Arshdeep for bowling the last over and that speaks of Arshdeep’s talent,” Hayer conveyed to Baljeet Kaur, mother of Arshdeep Singh on Monday.
