
The Glazer family, who have owned Manchester United since 2005, are reportedly looking to sell minority stake in the Premier League club. However, the Red Devils are yet to make any comments over the reports as discussions are held to bring in a new investor.
After failing to qualify for the Champions League this season by finishing at the sixth spot in the Premier League 2021-22 season, Manchester United are currently placed at the bottom of the league table as they lost both of their opening fixtures.
The 13-time Premier League champions lost 1-2 against Brighton and Hove Albion in their first English league fixture of the season on August 7. Later, the Erik ten Hag side faced a humiliating 4-0 defeat from Brentford on Sunday.
A report in Bloomberg stated that preliminary discussions have been held about bringing in a new investor at Manchester United. Manchester United have two executive co-chairmen and directors Avram Glazer and Joel Glazer, while family members Kevin Glazer, Bryan Glazer, Darcie Glazer Kassewitz and Edward Glazer all sit on the board, according to the club’s website.
Manchester United will look to open their winning count in the Premier League 2022-23 on Monday against Liverpool. On the other hand, the Reds have played two draws in their opening two league fixtures against Fulham and Crystal Palace and are currently on the 12th spot in the league table.
