With the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) reaching the half-stage mark, the points table looks well settled with Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings securing the top four spot. However, this might rest well, former India cricketer, Virender Sehwag dropped a big statement on some of the overseas cricketers, who have catered big prices but have failed to perform.

Sehwag, who is working as one of the panelists for Cricbuzz, slammed overseas players Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone, seeing their poor run in the ongoing cash-rich league. Speaking of the players, while Livingstone has amassed 87 runs in six inning at an average of 17.40, Maxwell has only scored 41 runs in five inning at a humiliating average of 8.20.

Sehwag remarked that the two internationals do not have any hunger and come to India just spend their holidays. His remarks come after Maxwell was dropped from PBKS lineup in match against Bengaluru on Friday and Livingstone was left from RCB's XI in the reverse fixture, played on Sunday, April 20.

"Maxwell, Livingstone have no hunger anymore. They come to India to spend their holidays. It's not like they love their teams, or that they are passionate about winning games for them. That they have not won a trophy yet and they have to get it done this year," Sehwag said.

"I have played with a lot of overseas players, out of which maybe one or two of them had the hunger. These other guys only talk and do not show any performance on the field," he continued. "David Warner, AB de Villiers and Glenn McGrath are the three players who used to tell me, 'I will win games for you, play me.' I used to be in a fix about whom to play and whom to drop. But I have seen other players — West Indians, Sri Lankans — who used to ask after the semi-finals, 'Where's the party tonight?' That's when you get to know who wants to win trophies and who is here to chill," Sehwag concluded.

Speaking of the PBKS’ campaign in IPL 2025 so far, the Shreyas Iyer-led side are placed at the fourth spot after eight games. The side have won five matches and lost three in the eight matches and have 10 points to their name. The PBKS will next travel to Kolkata to take on Kolkata Knight Riders in a reverse fixture on April 26.
