After the Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero showtime pay-per-view fight at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, gunshots were reportedly fired just outside the arena. Present at the scene, a reporter initially tweeted that there was the “sound of gunshots inside” the arena, but later addressed that the shots were reportedly fired outside, which caused a rush back inside from the crowd that was trying to exit the stadium.
The video of the scene has now gone viral on the internet where spectators are seen running towards the exit in order to escape the mishap.
Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka was present at the arena and tweeted that the incident was terrifying as she heard some shouting that there is a shooter in the building. Her tweet said, “I was just in the Barclays Centre and suddenly I heard shouting and saw people running, then we were being yelled at that there was an active shooter and we had to huddle in a room and close the doors, I was so fucking petrified man.
