With Sunday, November 26, being the deadline day for the IPL teams to retain and release their players before the auction for the 2024 season, a lot of rumours and speculations are running rampant around the players. It has been reported that big marquee signings from the last IPL season, including the likes of Harry Brook, Shardul Thakur, and Sam Curran, could get released by their respective IPL teams.

As per the report from Cricbuzz, it is likely that a captain switches their IPL team in a mega trade deal, with negotiations going on currently, but no deal has been signed yet. They have asked for comments from the respective franchises, but there has been no response to the contrary.

Kolkata Knight Riders could release the likes of the New Zealand fast bowling duo of Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson, along with the rumours circulating around Shardul Thakur going into the IPL Auction for the 2024 season. The speculation around Andre Russell leaving KKR is there too, but it is unlikely.

Apart from Ben Stokes, it has been revealed that Chennai Super Kings are preparing to release three more players, along with surplus money coming in from the retirement of Ambati Rayudu, to accumulate funds around ₹30 crores to enter into the IPL auction for the next season. They could also release the likes of Dwaine Pretorius and either one of Sisanda Magala or Kyle Jamieson.
