England and Whales Cricket Board have named playing XI for the third and series-decider Test against South Africa, scheduled to commence on September 8 at the Kennington Oval in London on Thursday. England have made one change to their playing XI as Yorkshire batter Harry Brook has replaced injured Jonny Bairstow.

Brook made his international debut during England tour of the West Indies in January and is likely to bat at number five. The 23-year-old is currently averaging 107.44 with the bat for Yorkshire in Division One of the Country Championship this season and is a former England U19 captain.

Earlier, prominent England wicket-keeper batter Jonny Bairstow was ruled out of the third match of the Test series after sustaining a lower limb injury in a 'freak accident while playing golf.’ England and Wales Cricket Board further informed that Bairstow will consult a specialist next week to ascertain the full extent of the injury.

Proteas won the first Test by an innings and 12 runs at Lord's but the hosts bounced back strongly to level the three-match series by 85-run victory at Old Trafford.

England team for third Test
