According to latest reports, the Haryana Amateur Wrestling Association (HAWA), which is connected to the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), has recently suspended three of its members from the organisation for allegedly agitating against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The WFI Chief is currently been investigated by Delhi Police for his involvement in the sexual harassment case, filed by the top women’s wrestlers in the country, including the names like Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik.

The news was broken by Tribune India, in which they mentioned about an order issued by HAWA President Rohtas Singh to suspend Virender Singh Dalal, Sanjay Singh Malik, and Jai Bhagwan, who act as Secretaries for the organisation in Jhajjar, Hisar, and Mewat respectively.

The order from HAWA President stated, “You are still continuing your activities with the protesters which is purely non ethical and against the objectives, rules and regulations of the WFI. Therefore, the district associations are requested to not to involve them in any activities organised on behalf of HAWA because they have been suspended and no activities will be conducted in their akharas/academies/schools.”

Also, there was another order issued by HAWA to ban the managers of Shaheed Bhagat Wrestling Academy in Hisar, namely Ajay Singh Dhanda and Jai Bhagwan Lathar. It read, “The District Units of the HAWA are advised to not to involve them in any activities organised on behalf of HAWA because they are having nursery/centre from Haryana Sports Department as well as SAI but misrouting the young wrestlers for their personal vested interest instead of giving them proper regular practice. Now they are taking the young children/wrestler at protest place along with them.”

“In spite of our earlier letter dated March 28, 2023, you are still playing your part very actively in non-ethical negative politics and anti WFI and anti HAWA objectives and activities,” the order concluded.
