India are playing New Zealand in the first semifinal of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Men in Blue won the toss early in the match and invited the Kane Williamson-led side to field first. Team India skipper Rohit Sharma gave a good start to the team, adding crucial 47 runs before falling off Tim Southee's bowling and a brilliant catch by Williamson.
However, taking India to 50-plus score in the early inning, fans hailed the Indian batter for his brilliant “selfless” play. A few others spoke highly of the Indian captain, who broke the record of smashing most sixes in ODI World Cup. Rohit Sharma completed most sixes in World Cup in just 27 innings, surpassing Chris Gayle's record of 49 sixes off 34 innings.

Talking about Team India’s campaign at the ODI World Cup 2023, the Men in Blue are unbeaten so far in the tournament. While they beat all the top teams in the league stage to finish as the table toppers with 18 points, New Zealand finished fourth with 10 points. The Kiwis won only five matches from their nine games to confirm a semifinal spot.
