The former India captain MS Dhoni is known for his calm demeanour and modest personality in the sport. In one such example, the 42-year-old gave up crores of rupees in a bat sponsorship deal, opting to put the BAS sticker on his bat during the CWC 2019 in a thank you gesture to the bat sponsor for helping him decades prior.

Notably, Beat All Sports (BAS), was the sponsor of the first kit for MS Dhoni in the year 1998, a deal which was secured with the efforts of his childhood friend Paramjit Singh. The owner of BAS, Somi Kohli, spoke about how MS Dhoni didn’t charge them any money for putting their stickers on his bat in his last international tournament, the ODI World Cup 2019, letting go of a big money contract in the process.   Check the top betting trends on the  best betting apps in India  and websites.

In the report from The Quint, Somi Kohli was quoted as saying about MS Dhoni’s thank you gesture, “Dhoni did not mention any money. He just said 'Put your stickers on my bats and send them across'. I tried to convince him, 'You're letting go of such a lucrative contract'. He refused crores of rupees worth of contract.”

“I requested his wife Sakshi, his father, mother. Even told his CA and Paramjit from Ranchi. They all went to his home before the World Cup. But he said 'No... it is my decision',” added the owner of BAS.

Moreover, in his recent images while practising in the nets, MS Dhoni was spotted with a new sticker on his bat, bearing the name “Prime Sports,” which is the sports shop owned by his childhood friend Paramjit Singh. Just like five years prior with BAS, this is yet another example of the former Indian captain giving back to those who helped him in the early stages of his cricketing career.

MS Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title last year, is set to make his return to the Indian franchise T20 tournament next month. He will be looking forward to helping CSK win one more IPL title this season to get them past MI in the all-time trophy leaderboard.
