Former batting head coach of the Indian team, Bharat Arun recently discussed how Virat Kohli would react to criticisms and feedback on his batting technique by other coaches. Notably, Kohli had a poor run in the recently ended Border-Gavaskar Trophy down under. After getting a hundred in the first Test in Perth, Kohli failed to play a big knock throughout the series and ended up scoring just 190 runs in nine innings.

The most discussed topic about Virat Kohli’s batting in the BGT 2024-25 was the constant urge by the Indian batter to nick off outside deliveries which resulted in his wicket most of the time during the Test series. After that, many experts raised questions on Kohli not being receptive to coaching methodologies and consultation. However, former coach Bharat Arun said that the star Indian batter would have listened to coaches and took suggestion regarding his batting technique.

I am sure Virat will ask questions because he is the No. 1 batter in the world: Bharat Arun

With Champions Trophy around the corner, the fans are concerned over Virat Kohli’s form ahead of the mega event. However, the last time Kohli played in an ICC tournament during the home ODI World Cup in 2023, the right-hander ended up getting a record 765 runs in 11 matches. Now,  the 36-year-old will be looking to get his form during the 2025 Champions Trophy.

"See, Virat Kohli will definitely ask. If you suggest changes to him or anything like that, you should have a very good reason as to why you are suggesting it. I am sure that he will do so because he is the No. 1 batter in the world. When you make suggestions about what is wrong, he will ask questions like - 'what is wrong with me?' and 'how did I miss my runs?'," Bharat Arun was quoted as saying by Crictracker.
