Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni enjoys a special fandom across the globe. An absolute heartthrob of India, MS Dhoni is regarded as one of the most successful captains in the world. Affectionately called ‘Captain Cool’, Dhoni is admired by millions, from 3-year-old kids to mega icons of the country, Mahi, as he is called, is an idol to many. One such glimpse was caught when the 41-year-old cricketer met politician-actor Khushbu Sundar’s mother-in-law.

A global star, Dhoni enjoys a special fandom in Chennai. Regarded as ‘Thala’ in Chennai, the special relationship between him and the people of Chennai grew over the years as he is associated with the Chennai Super Kings in IPL. Though he retired from international cricket long ago, Dhoni still continues to touch the lives of many. 

The BJP leader took to social media to describe Dhoni's "warmth and hospitality" as he met her mother-in-law on Friday. She wrote, "Heroes are not made, they are born. Dhoni proves that. I am at loss for words for our CSK #Thala @msdhoni at his warmth & hospitality. He met my ma in law, who at 88, hero worships Dhoni & cannot see beyond him. Mahi, you have added many years of good health & happiness to her life. My pranaams to you for this. My gratitude to @ChennaiIPL for making this possible. CSK kku whistle podu!!"

According to the former CSK player and IPL commentator, Kedar Jadhav, this is Dhoni’s last IPL season, and he is set to retire from the tournament after this season’s completion. The former India captain, Dhoni has played 238 IPL games and has captained CSK in 200 of them.
