Tesla Chief Executive Officer and now Twitter owner  Elon Musk made a sensational claim a month ago after he stated he is ready to buy Manchester United, in one of his tweet. In his series of tweets, Musk said that United is his favorite club and if ever he buys any club it will be Manchester United. Tesla CEO further asserted that he backed the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party, followed by his surprising claim of buying the British football club.

However, his tweet over Manchester United was new for sports as the world's richest man took every football expert by surprise. However, he was quick to state the fact that he is just joking and further claimed that United his favorite club since childhood.

Speaking of Manchester United's ownership, the American Glazer family control the club and is facing lot of flak from the football fans due to the team's downfall as the Red Devils are currently at the bottom of the Premier League after a 4-0 thrashing by Brentford in an away game.

United's poor performance has also raised uncertainty over its most celebrated player Cristiano Ronaldo's future with club. Several reports have been doing the rounds claiming the striker is not willing to continue with Red Devils and waiting to get desired offer. In recent years, Manchester United fans have protested against the Glazers, who bought the club for 790 million pounds ($955.51 million) in 2005.
