After Chennai Super Kings won against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets, MS Dhoni took a cheeky dig and said, “I have a complain, they didn’t give me best catch tonight,” while chatting with Harsha Bhogle at the post match presentation. MSD also made a comment about not having any complaints about not getting a lot of chances to bat in matches.

Notably, the ‘Catch of the match award’, presented after every IPL game, was given to MS Dhoni’s fellow teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad, who took a diving catch in front of himself to dismiss Harry Brook off the bowling of Akash Singh for the CSK versus SRH encounter at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The particular catch which the CSK captain Dhoni thought to be the best was his reflex grab while standing in-front of the stumps to get rid of his opposing captain Aiden Markram off the bowling of Maheesh Theekshana. It is definitely a very hard skill for a wicket-keeper to catch the ball close in and more so when the deflection off the bat is big.

MS Dhoni elaborated on the matter later in the post match presentation and said, “They didn't give me best catch award. I was in such a wrong position. Just because we wear gloves, people think it's easy. I felt it was a fantastic catch. Long time back I still remember one game - Rahul Dravid was keeping and he caught one like that.”
