Former Indian opening batter Virender Sehwag talked about how he savagely replied to Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar when he compared his money to Sehwag’s hair. Viru was a recent guest on the ‘Breakfast with Champions’, where he discussed his love-hate relationship with Akhtar over his long playing career.

The Nawab of Najafgarh spoke about how he shares a very deep friendship with Shoaib Akhtar as they have played a lot of cricket against each other. He also spoke about how their friendship grew since the 2003-04 season as both India and Pakistan toured each other many times from that year. Viru then talked about how this friendship has allowed them to take fun jibes at each other.

Sehwag said, “Where there is love, there is banter or where there is friendship. With Shoaib Akhtar, I have had a deep friendship since 2003-04. We have gone there twice, they have come twice. There’s friendship and we pull each other’s leg too."

Coming back to Akhtar’s statement about comparing his money to Sehwag’s hair, the 2011 World Cup winner was talking about how Shoaib would make such comments here and there. Hence when Sehwag got a chance to respond, he stated how the tables have turned as in recent times, he has a lot more hair than Akthar has money.

“He made a statement. I have more notes than the number of hair strands Virender Sehwag has on his head. Now My hair strands are more than your notes. That tagline would be cool for ‘Breakfast With Champions’," Sehwag added.
