The ongoing Asia Cup 2023 finale saw some bizarre turn of things as Mohammed Siraj not only starred scalping four wickets in his second over of the day, but also completed a six-wicket haul in the following overs. After being invited to bowl first, the Men in Blue spell their magic as the Sri Lanka top-order was reduced to 13/6 inside the six overs.
Meanwhile the action took place in the fourth over of Sri Lanka inning as Siraj scalped four wickets. On the first delivery, he dismissed Pathum Nissanka for a score of 2, courtesy a stunner from Jadeja, followed by two wickets in two balls thereafter on the third and fourth delivery.
Just after this Irfan Pathan, the former India all-rounder who is a part of the commentary panel with Star Sports spotted Siraj run to bowl an over, calling it a never seen before moment. “I have never seen this,” Irfan Pathan said on Siraj running for his own delivery.
Talking about the match, Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka invited India to bowl first after winning the toss. While half the side was dismissed inside the first powerplay, Jasprit Bumrah has so far taken one, with Siraj taking the other six wickets to keep the side in a strong place.
