Mumbai Indians are having the worst tournament so far in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. The five-time champions have been defeated in all the games they have played. Rohit Sharma-led team has lost eight consecutive games and it seems like the tournament is already over for them. The closest Mumbai came to winning a game was against Chennai Super Kings when they almost defended 155 runs.
But apart from that match, Mumbai have not looked like a champion side. As there are still six league games left for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022, their fans will hope MI wins most of them. Although the team has put on a shambolic performance in the season, its fans are not ready to give up on it yet. And for the same Rohit Sharma has thanked the fans.
After Mumbai lost to Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday evening, Rohit Sharma shared a tweet where he talked about the losses Mumbai has faced and also thanked Mumbai's fans for their support and loyalty. "We haven’t put our best foot forward in this tournament but that happens, many sporting giants have gone through this phase but I love this team and it’s environment. Also want to appreciate our well-wishers who’ve shown faith and undying loyalty to this team so far," tweeted Sharma.
Nothing working for Mumbai
In the 15th edition of the IPL, nothing has worked for Mumbai Indians. The team has struggled in every department from bowling to batting to fielding. On Sunday evening, Mumbai could only get the toss in their favor. Apart from that, nothing went well for them.
KL Rahul scored a century against them once again and also remained unbeaten. Two of Mumbai's bowlers conceded ten runs per over. In batting, Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer with his 39 off 31 balls and thus Mumbai failed to chase 169.
