Star Australian batter Travis Head opened up on the feud he had with Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj on Day 2 of the second BGT Test. Notably, India and Australia are up against each other in the second game of the elite five-match series at the Adelaide Oval. Day 2 of the game saw a few heated exchanges between players of both the teams. Things got tense between the teams when the Indian speedster gave a fiery send-off to Head after a remarkable knock.
Notably, Head frustrated the visitors with his batting prowess and came up with an enthralling hundred that pushed the hosts into the first-innings lead over India. When Siraj knocked the left-hander out by hitting the stumps, he came up with an animated gesture pointing Head towards the dug-out and exchanged a few words.
If that’s how they want to represent themselves: Travis Head
Following the second day’s gameplay, the Aussie batter opened up on the heated exchange and said that he praised the Indian bowler, while the latter misunderstood him. Not only this, but Head also expressed his disappointment with how things turned out to be. The 30-year-old said, “I said well bowled but he thought otherwise … when he pointed me to the sheds he got a little bite back from me.”
He added, “I’m slightly disappointed with how that transpired, with a couple of the past innings. It is what it is. If they want to react like that and that’s how they want to represent themselves, then so be it.” Notably, Siraj’s celebration for their local hero didn’t sit well with the Adelaide crowd and fans present at the stadium booed him for the same.
