The much-awaited IPL 2023 finale between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans saw a halt again on the Reserve Day as rain came into play. After being invited to bat first, GT posted 214/4 in the 20 overs. However, GT inning also saw some passing showers, the match saw a heavy downpour during the mid innings delaying the start of the second inning.
Though after a delayed start to the second inning, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway walked into the middle but could only play three deliveries before rain halting play. Although, this was a little heavier it finally stopped after some while. As the match was stopped, former Indian cricketers in Aakash Chopra, Robin Uthappa, Parthiv Patel and Suresh Raina recalled some moments from the sport.
In one such time, Raina said that the fanbase CSK has had might have resulted in yellow coloured cloth getting finished in the country by now. “I think yellow cloth would have been finished in country by now,” he said.
This statement of Raina comes after CSK fans were seen across all the venues in large numbers at the stadiums during the two-month long tournament. What is reportedly said to be MS Dhoni’s last IPL edition, Yellow Army fans are flocking in large numbers to just watch the legend play for that one last time, leaving no stone unturned.
