I want to be part of the World Cup and the Euros: Cristiano Ronaldo sets eyes on upcoming international events

Cristiano Ronaldo will appear in his 10th major international tournament for his country at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Portugal and Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo received the trophy for the top national team goalscorer of all time at the Portuguese Football Federation's (FPF) Quinas de Ouro awards in Lisbon on Tuesday. After receiving the award, the 37-year-old revealed his desires to play for his national side in the Euro 2024.

After playing 189 matches and scoring 117 goals for Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo will appear in his 10th major international tournament for his country at  the FIFA World Cup 2022 in  Qatar.

During the awards ceremony on Tuesday, the Portuguese legend revealed his 'ambition' to participate in the upcoming FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euros. He said,  "My journey is not over yet, you're going to have to put up w ith 'Cris' for a while longer.  I want to be part of the World Cup and the Euros... I feel  very motivated. My ambition is great."

In September 2021, the great forward scored a brace against the Republic of Ireland to become the top international goalscorer in the history of the game after overtaking Iran's Ali Daei (109).

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season for Premier League club Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League 2022-23 clash against Moldovan club FC Sheriff.
