Indian leg spinner Yuzvnendra Chahal made a hilarious claim after India’s victory against Sri Lanka, calling himself Kuldeep Yadav’s mentor apart from being Suryakumar Yadav’s batting coach. Indian team sealed the three-game ODI series with a win in 2nd ODI thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant spell where he picked up three big wickets.

After the game, Chahal was interviewing Yadav as the pair discussed the left-armer’s return to ODI cricket for the Indian team. Here, Kuldeep thanked Chahal for his crucial inputs which helped him perform well with the white ball coming straight from Test cricket and planning against the Lankan batters.

Kuldeep Yadav said, “I would like to thank you for your suggestions. You played the entire T20I series and the previous one-dayer as well. I was coming into white-ball cricket straight from a Test match. You gave inputs. Since you were playing so much with the boys, you had an idea of how to bowl, so thank you for it. These small inputs are very important. Of course, we are not playing together so much on the field these days, but the outside inputs I get from you are also very helpful.”

Reacting to this compliment, Chahal whipped out an uproarious comment stating that along with helping Suryakumar Yadav with his batting, he now has also become Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling coach. He said, “Surya ke to hum batting coach hain, ab Kuldeep Yadav ke bhi bowling coach bhi ban gaye. Yeh note kar lijiye. (I am already Surya's batting coach, now I am Kuldeep Yadav's bowling coach too. Note this.)”

Going back to the game, India registered a four-wicket win against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens. After being asked to bowl, the Men in Blue ran through the Sri Lankan batters. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj combined to pick six wickets as the visitors were bundled out for 215.

In the second innings, despite losing few early wickets, India managed to reach the target comfortably courtesy of KL Rahul's unbeaten 64. Along with Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Shubhman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer chipped in crucial runs.
