Royal Challengers Bangalore leg spinner Adam Zampa finally opens up about his decision for pulling himself out of the ongoing IPL 2021. Earlier, Zampa along with countrymen, Kane Richardson decided to leave their franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore after side’s first loss of the season against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
Talking to the Australian publication, The Age, Zampa disclosed that the reason behind the decision was an accumulation of a lot of things and revealed that he failed to find the motivation for going to training.

“Obviously the COVID situation over here is pretty dire. I just felt, rocking up to training and stuff, obviously, I wasn’t playing in the team as well”, said the Australian spinner.
"I was going to training and I wasn’t finding the motivation. [There were] a few other things like bubble fatigue and the chance to get home, once all the news broke about the flights and everything. I thought this was the best time to make the call”, Zampa further added.
The Australian leg spinner further went onto state that according to him, even the IPL 2021 edition should have been held in UAE. He expressed that according to him, India was always vulnerable to host such a grand event.
Acknowledging that leaving IPL 2021 is a big financial loss, Zampa stressed that his mental fitness comes first then the sport.
“I just feel like because it’s India, we’re always being told about the hygiene over here and being extra careful. I just felt like it was the most vulnerable. The IPL that was held in Dubai six months ago didn’t feel that way at all. I felt like that was extremely safe,” Zampa concluded.
