India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in a thrilling encounter after being reduced to 31/4 chasing 160. With the help of a 113-run partnership between Virat Kohli-Hardik Pandya for the 5th wicket, India not only reached close to their target but set the base after which India came back only after helping India win the game.

Kohli's sensational innings off an unbeaten 82 from 53 balls helped India make a match out of nowhere against arch-rivals Pakistan. While India won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first, the Men in Green managed to post 159/8 on board with the help of fifties from Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed after they lost early wickets. Shaheen Afridi's cameo also played a vital role in Pakistan posting a target of 160 innings. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya were star bowlers for India as they scalped 3 wickets each.

India lost both openers for just 4 runs each and found themselves reeling at 31/4 after 6.1 overs but Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya's resilient partnership helped India to do the improbable of smashing 115 runs in the last 10 overs to win the game. Chase master Kohli played one of his best T20I innings to chase this total effortlessly in style and the last-over drama from Mohammad Nawaz added even more masala to this thrilling game and it would be remembered as one of the best IND-PAK games in T20 World Cup after the 2007 edition of the tournament. R Ashwin's presence of mind in the last ball of the innings and his calm attitude to finish the game would also be cherished by Indian fans.
